From the car park you first go to a windsurfing area. Kite surfers have to walk about 200m further past the windsurfing area onto the dyke.
In spring or autumn the water can be quite cold, so neoprene shoes are recommended.
In good conditions it can get quite crowded and the take-off and landing area can be a bit narrow, partly due to the adjacent pedestrian and cycle path.
