On March 29 and 30, 2025, the "Lords of Tram" GKA Big Air Kite World Cup took place again in Le Barcarès , France. We were there in person and experienced an event that set new standards in terms of excitement and action.
The infamous Tramontana (north to northwest wind) showed its wildest side, bringing wind speeds of up to 60 knots to the athletes. These extreme yet unique conditions challenged the participants to their limits, resulting in jumps of incredible heights and impressive tricks.
Andrea Principi of Italy, who built an unassailable lead with two 9-point scores , secured the men's victory and completely captivated the spectators. His compatriot Lorenzo Casati took second place and, thanks to his place in the final, was also able to celebrate the title of new world champion. His younger brother Leonardo Casati also landed on the podium (for the first time), taking third place. Dutchman Stino Mul rounded out the final in fourth place.

In the women's event, Brazilian Mikaili Sol dominated the field, securing her eighth world title. Francesca Maini of Great Britain also delivered a strong performance, taking second place. Egyptian Sarah Sadek celebrated her first GKA podium with third place, while Italian Alice Ruggiu took fourth place.
This event was not only a sporting highlight, but also took big air kitesurfing to the next level. The athletes impressively demonstrated how they can push the boundaries of what's possible and amaze the audience.
It was epic!
